ScorpFrog looking good

Friday, I had my weekly meeting with Richard, but we decided to forgo the usual mystery project meeting for a ScorpFrog meeting. Things are looking really good for ScorpFrog. Richard is wrapping up the last few stray ends including food and crew. He brought over a sample of the lunch we’ll be eating and it’s [...]

Hearts of Darkness

On Thursday I purchased ‘Hearts of Darkness’, the documentary on Francis Ford Coppola’s movie ‘Apocalypse Now’. For those who haven’t seen it, it’s a look at filmmaking you don’t normally see. Instead of showing directors sitting in a chair and talking about their style in a state of calm, this movie show the stress and [...]

Music Video Section

I posted a new Music Video section today! Click on the menu above and check it out. It features a music video I shot this past September called Lullaby for Momma. It’s not quite finished yet, but I’m working on it.

Mystery Project Meeting

Good meeting today for our mystery project. We settled on a name and started to refine the business plan. It’s going to take some time, but we’re determined to create a good foundation. I was there for a panel called ‘Break on Through – The creative response to tough times’. Above is the skylight to the building. Paul  O’Conner spoke for a while [...]

Storyboards done….

Woot! Storyboards are done. Nice to see all those years of art school finally coming to use. This time around I’m stretching the visuals a bit. I’m going for something that I wouldn’t normally do as a director, but I’m intersted in pushing my style a bit more. I think it will be interesting and [...]

Auditions!

I love auditioning. Getting to work with actors is such a joy. It’s the hours of auditioning the same material over and over again that can drive me nuts. We went from 8am to 1pm auditioning actors, but at least we were able to break up the time with a unicycler. Unicycling looks like fun. [...]

Location Scouting

Whew! Up at 6:00 am to get ready for our second location scout today. This location will be used for The Scorpion and the Frog short which I’ve been hired to direct. This particular photo shows where the living room scene will take place. We got a chance to look it over with Adri Siriwatt  [...]

Mystery Project

Yes, that’s right, I have a mystery project. And yes, every time I type mystery project it has to be in italics. You can imagine the warbly as you say it in your head. And no, it has nothing to do with the Pepsi can above. It’s something that I’m quite excited about, but can’t [...]
